Reading to Share & Grow : Cleo The Cat : Book Review and Giveaway

1 Mar

This is my first book review and giveaway since starting Reading to Share & Grow.  You can read more about it under the “Reading to Share & Grow” tab at the top of the page.  I’m hoping to do these reviews and host giveaways for my readers a couple times a month, giving other families the opportunity to receive books to share with their children. If you’ve got kidlets and love to read with your children, feel free to enter the giveaway. The goal of this project is to motivate, encourage and inspire other families to read with their children! And if they read, to read more! And there is no better way to start than with a free copy of this book, courtesy of Barefoot Books. First up, Cleo the Cat, by Caroline Mockford.

Lillienne loves board books, and what baby/toddler doesn’t?  This gorgeous children’s book has wonderful bright colors, creative, colorful illustrations, and the words are in rhyme to make the experience of reading the book that much more fun. “Cleo needs a friend./ Cleo’s all alone./ Cleo takes a walk./ Cleo wants a home.”
The story is about Cleo the Cat and the adventure of Cleo’s day, waking up hungry and alone, and wanting to find a home to live in.
Lillienne loved pointing to the kitty on every page, and the rhyming in this book made it easy and enjoyable to read, and made an excellent attempt at holding Lillienne’s attention! Very cute book!

To Enter the giveaway to win a copy of Cleo The Cat, please leave a comment with “Cleo the Cat” in the comment section, along with your email. For an extra entry, write about Reading to Share & Grow on your own blog, and help a sister out! Giveaway open to residents of Canada and the US only. Good luck! Giveaway ends March 15th/10.
